Using My Skills as the Power Behind the Scenes — My Source of Fulfillment
As a member of CAPCOM’s overseas branch, I have been with the company for more than ten years, working as a web engineer.
I mainly handle the development and maintenance of operation systems for online games. Although operation tools are not part of the game’s core content, they play an important supporting role. Through stable data analysis and tool development, we help colleagues from other departments focus on what matters most—creating fun and engaging game content. Being part of the “behind-the-scenes” support that enhances the player experience carries a lot of responsibility, but it also brings a strong sense of accomplishment.
Embracing a New Role and New Challenges
CAPCOM is a company that constantly evolves and adapts. In recent years, the Taiwan team has also entered a new stage of transformation, placing more importance on global user engagement. Because of this shift, besides working as an engineer, I also began taking on tasks related to social media planning and content creation.
Rediscovering the Value of My Work
This change of role has been a completely new challenge—and a fun one. In the past, the people I served were mainly colleagues and internal teams. Now, I interact directly with players and consumers, learning their expectations through feedback, observing community trends, and thinking about how to present our products in the most appealing way. Being part of this transformation and supporting the company from different perspectives has been refreshing and fulfilling.
An Open, Supportive, and Inspiring Work Environment
Our work culture is very open, allowing everyone to freely share their ideas. International meetings happen often, and even when opinions differ, we don’t immediately deny each other’s viewpoints. Instead, we communicate with understanding and respect to make thoughtful decisions. The office environment is also relaxed—desks are often decorated with anime figures and collectibles. Sharing interests and discussing creative ideas always brings new inspiration to our work.
This is probably one of the most charming things about working in a game company.
