IP LICENSING

Hello everyone! I’m a recent graduate from Japan, and I’m currently in charge of IP licensing at CAPCOM.

Before joining, I honestly had very little understanding of what “licensing” truly meant. It wasn’t until I stepped into this role that I realized IP licensing is everywhere in our daily lives—from collaboration merchandise, game partnerships, themed cafés, to various marketing campaigns. All of these are driven by licensing behind the scenes.

Different regions also have their own concepts, processes, and cultural approaches toward licensing. These differences have exposed me to new knowledge and perspectives, making the work both enriching and fascinating.

There are many Japanese colleagues in CAPCOM, and my Taiwanese teammates and supervisors are highly knowledgeable about and respectful of Japanese culture. For me, even while working abroad, I can still feel a sense of familiarity, while also learning firsthand how Japanese companies operate through my daily tasks. For someone just starting their career, this has been a rare and valuable experience.

I look forward to welcoming more people who love CAPCOM IP, enjoy games, and have a passion for cross-cultural collaboration to join us and create even more exciting possibilities together!
